Welcome to the South Terrebonne High School Library web site.

The library's goals are to:

1. provide our community with access to information sources, both print and audiovisual, to assist students in completion of class assignments.

2. to work collaboratively with the faculty to provide instructional resources to assist in the classroom and in the implementation of technology based  instruction.

3. to assist students in becoming independent library users.

In designing this library's  web page, my  goal was to assist students in finding information resources in a useful and uncomplicated way.  This page is but a starting point.  I hope that the students will use this as a springboard to further research.

According to the American Library Association, "Learning in the future will increasingly take place within networks of people, of information, and of ideas.  Libraries, like schools, cannot remain bound by walls."

Traditional learning has expanded from what is found in books to incorporate the internet and other technology. Students need to be able to "visit the library" from home as well as from school.  Libraries have to expand to meet these needs and provide different avenues to integrate previously unavailable resources into the learning environment.

Students will have the flexibility of doing work individually, in small groups or on collaborative projects.  Tools that provide " Everyday entertainment" into an educational tool.

In the future, I hope to collaborate with the faculty to develop further links/class pages  to assist students in the completion of assignments.

If anyone has any suggestions, questions or comments, please contact me here at ST or e-mail me using the link below.  (it's the school address)

Have a great day.
