General Reference Sites:

• World Book Kids is a special place just for kids to "dive" into information.  Pictures, maps, activities, research are all available. Easily connect to World Book Online for even more information.

• World Book Online Encyclopedia is free to students in Louisiana schools.  You must type in the user name and password.  Check your planners for the passwords. Hint: Our state and last part of our school name.

• The Library Spot is a free virtual library resource center for educators and students, librarians and their patrons, families, businesses and just about anyone exploring the Web for valuable research information.

• Kids Click! was created by a group of librarians at the Ramapo Catskill Library System, as a logical step in addressing concerns about the role of public libraries in guiding their young users to valuable and age appropriate web sites.

  The Scholastic Site contains plenty of teaching ideas. This is a neatly packaged set of ideas mainly for primary and lower secondary students.

• Young Author's Workshop:  Students are taken step-by-step through the writing process.

• MMS's Guide to Writing Bibliographies - shows examples of what a bibliography should look like and provides links to other MLA style guides.
