This donation is to purchase scientific calculators for students in the new H. L. Bourgeois High School Freshman Center.

District Choral Large Ensemble Performance Assessment

District Choral Large Ensemble Performance Assessment was held on March 14-15 at Central Lafourche High School.  Each choir is required to prepare three selections for the stage portion of the assessment.  Each choir is then assessed on their sight-reading abilities. A superior rating (I) on stage and a rating of excellent (II) or better in sight-reading is required to qualify for State Large Ensemble Performance Assessment.

 

The following schools qualified for the State Choral Large Ensemble Performance Assessment, which will be held at the Lake Charles Civic Center in Lake Charles, LA on April 30 – May 2:

·         Houma Junior High Mixed Choir     Stage I, Sightreading I

·         H.L. Bourgeois High School Ladies Choir     Stage I, Sightreading I

District VII Instrumental Large Ensemble Performance Assessment

 

Terrebonne Parish bands took part in the District VII Instrumental Large Ensemble Performance Assessment on March 20 – 22.  Bands are evaluated by three judges for stage performance and are rated Superior, Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor on their performance of three prepared pieces.  Bands also receive a rating for sightreading where they are given a piece of music and expected to perform it without rehearsal.

 

The results for Terrebonne Parish for the District VII Performance Assessment are listed below.  Those schools marked with an asterisk are eligible for State Festival.

THS and HLB DECA Programs Attend Leadership Conference

 

Students from H.L. Bourgeois High School and Terrebonne High School Marketing Education programs recently attended the Louisiana DECA Leadership Conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The Distributive Education Clubs of America prepares future leaders for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.  Congratulations to the following winners at the conference:
