English IV Honors

This is an advanced course that reviews and extends the essentials of the preceding advanced English course. Additionally, English literature, the modern novel, the essay, and the research paper are studied in depth.

This is an advanced course which reviews and extends the essentials of the preceding advanced English course. Additionally, English literature, the modern novel, and persuasive writing are studied in depth.

Business English

This course is concerned with grammar, sentence structure, and general mechanics of proper English usage essential to modern business. Emphasis is placed on writing letters, reports, memorandums, telegrams, news releases, minutes of meetings, and business communications. This course will help students speak more effectively in business.

English Literature

This course focuses upon the study of English literature with an emphasis upon the works of Shakespeare.

Advanced Grammar and Composition

This English elective is designed to teach students how to create various types of writing, including but not limited to, short stories, poetry, drama, personal essays, feature writing, and the cited essay or research paper. The student will be required to compile a portfolio of his or her writings. This course is recommended for students preparing for the ACT and college.

Reading I

This English elective is designed to teach basic reading skills to improve reading level. It is for students who struggle in English or have difficulty with reading material in other courses.
