            Upon entering the halls, it is evident that H.L. Bourgeois High School is a safe, clean, and comfortable facility fostering a positive, exciting, and engaging learning environment. Using open communication, teachers and administrators cultivate a cooperative and motivational climate that promotes mutual respect and productivity. In addition, school personnel work closely in a collaborative effort to instill school spirit and pride among the student body. Through the efforts of our school community, we are proud to call H.L. Bourgeois High School home.

            Effective leadership and respect is evident on all levels including the school board, central office, administration, faculty, staff, parents, and students. At H.L. Bourgeois, caring professionals adapt to fulfill duties and responsibilities which ensure student success. Fair and consistent handling of disciplinary procedures is evident for all.

            Students are responsible for their actions and are self-motivated to set high expectations for themselves while maintaining high morals and values. They are eager and prepared to learn, possessing the ability to adapt to diverse situations. Students assist in maintaining a clean, safe environment promoting pride as well as school spirit. They communicate openly and respectfully with administrators, teachers, staff, and one another.

            All levels of personnel strive to create an exemplary school. The administration is compassionate, committed, competent, and unified in leading H.L. Bourgeois. Our faculty follows the excellent example of our administration and has the highest expectations for our students. H.L. Bourgeois' personnel continue to grow professionally by participating in various academic programs. Our support staff contributes to a successful operation by providing essential daily services.

            Teachers and counselors strive to aid students in choosing appropriate academic and vocational goals. Based on aptitude testing, realistic goals are developed for each student. Along with these goals, teachers and counselors build appropriate personal relationships. Providing a diverse curriculum, students’ individual needs are maximized, leading to become productive members of society. Behavioral and academic achievements are rewarded through positive reinforcement to promote continued student effort and success.

            Students have up-to-date computers, software, mobile labs and additional resources, equipping them with tools for our ever-evolving technological world. Furthermore, our school community has access to academic facilities that foster student achievement. In addition, state-of-the-art athletic facilities enhance student, parental, and faculty involvement. These facilities are maintained by all.

            Extracurricular activities enhance the school environment leading to academic empowerment. We provide opportunities for students to participate in these activities, promoting ownership, pride, loyalty, and an exciting learning environment.

            Our parents are actively involved in school activities and achieving goals. Community members provide real-life experiences for students through presentations and on-site interaction.
