Membership in the Marjorie Sinclair Chapter of the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors which can be bestowed upon a Houma Junior High School student.
The goal of all chapters is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of the secondary schools of the nation.
In order to be considered for membership, a student must

have been enrolled at Houma Junior High School for at least one semester prior to induction. |
|
|
be either in the seventh, eighth, or ninth grade. |
|
|
have an overall scholastic average of 3.2 or above per grading period. |
|
|
have no record of suspension for the calendar year prior to the date of induction. |
|
|
earn an above average rating from faculty and administrative evaluations. |
Induction for new members is conducted during the Spring semester.
