History

Greenwood Middle School has serviced the needs of its small rural community for over 48 years. Our school is located in the northern radius of Terrebonne Parish. Our enrollment consists of 200 students in grades 5-7.  

 Faculty Information

      Our instructional staff consists of 1 principal, 9 regular classroom teachers, 1 teacher and 2 aides for special education self contained, 2 teachers and 1 aide for special education inclusion, a computer lab aide, librarian, counselor, band director, music teacher, and nurse’s aide. We also have several other staff who serves Greenwood only on certain days.

     Our school operates on a block system. Each two-hour block consists of Language Arts, Math/Science, or Social Studies/Art/P.E. We are a Title I school and our school wide funds are used to improve our academic programs. As any school, we are striving for excellence in all areas of our curriculum.

Vision Statement

    Greenwood Middle School has developed its technology plan with a vision towards technological improvements in the 21st century. It is envisioned that students’ achievement will be improved, students will be enabled to continue lifelong learning processes, and there will be a vital link established between the school and community.
