We, at Gibson Elementary School, view each child as having a unique value and possessing the potential for positive contributions to society as well as the entire world of mankind . We believe that all children should have the opportunity to achieve to the best of their abilities and we strive to meet the individual needs of each child within the framework of their learning style. This will be accomplished by fostering a positive, nurturing environment for children, creating conditions conducive to student learning through the cooperative efforts and partnership in school, home and community. We further strive to instill a desire of excellence within our students. Also, we believe a positive self -image and a feeling of self -esteem contribute to student success. Lastly, we are committed to the continued improvement of the quality of education at Gibson Elementary School.
Because of the challenging times of our society, we firmly believe: Children learn in an active, enriched and multi-faceted learning environment with a focus on cooperative learning
through integrated units. Academic success requires that all children read, write, and communicate effectively. Critical thinking, problem solving skills and technology are crucial to a successful education.
