improved over our last few games, and Chad is our leader. We are going to play

Gators sweep Patriots
BOURG – South Terrebonne’s teams took out the brooms Thursday night by sweeping
Ellender Memorial in non-district matches.
The Gators picked up a 5-2 win over the Patriots, and the girls’ team posted a
shutout in a 2-0 victory.
SOUTH TERREBONNE 5, ELLENDER MEMORIAL 2 (BOYS)
After Tuesday’s double-overtime win over H.L. Bourgeois, the Gators continued
their dominance against Ellender Thursday night.
“I thought we controlled the pace of the game,” South Terrebonne coach Randy

Both teams got off to slow starts. In the ninth minute, the Gators had an
opportunity to score on Brock Hebert‘s header, but Patriots goalkeeper Carl
Verdin made a diving save to keep South Terrebonne off the scoreboard.
“South Terrebonne’s a heck of a team,” Ellender coach Matthew Dardar said. “We
played a lot better than we had so far and we made our first two goals of the
year.”
South Terrebonne (8-1-2 overall) got something going toward the middle of the
half when Ben Landry made his first of three goals. Shawn Champagne was credited
with the assist.
“We got some goals early,” Boquet said. “We did a lot of good things.”

4-0.
The Patriots finally got on the board when Pedro Cardenas scored in the 47th
minute. Spencer LeBlanc was credited with the assist.

“We’re 1-0 in district so far. We’re playing pretty good soccer right now,”
Boquet said. “Our focus is doing the best with district and we’ll see what
happens after that.”
Cardenas scored the final goal for the Patriots on a penalty kick inside the
final minute.
South Terrebonne outshot the Patriots 27-6. Verdin had 13 saves for Ellender.
