Wee Delivery Post Office

Many of our fourth grade students wanted to pursue a job as a postmaster at the beginning of the school year. After the students’ job applications were completed, a panel of teachers and other community members chose ten postmasters.

These postmasters were sworn in to their positions in September 2008. The students at Bourg school along with their family members and the faculty at Bourg School write letters to each other weekly. Postmasters work diligently every morning and at morning recesses to carefully and successfully cancel received mail and to sort and deliver special letters and packages being sent to family and friends. The highlight of each student’s Friday morning is to see if he or she has a special delivery from the postmasters. Don’t forget to send your child a note just to let him or her know that you are thinking of your special child. You can get grandparents, aunts and uncles involved, too!
